Farragut Admirals Varsity Claws Back, but Falls Just Short Against Maryville.

Farragut fought back after falling down by eight runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 11-9 defeat to Maryville on Monday. The  Ads scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Jake Hagenow in the third, a error in the third, a single by Carson Wright in the sixth, a in the sixth, and a double by Parker Noland in the sixth.

Farragut fell behind early in the loss. Maryville scored on a home run by Ruben Church in the first inning and a grand slam by Church in the second inning.

Maryville took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Church drove in two runs when he homered.

After Maryville scored three runs in the top of the third, Farragut answered with three of their own. Maryville scored when Christian Markham singled off of Drew Patterson, driving in one run, Will Orren singled off of Patterson, driving in one run, and Church hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run. Farragut then answered when Jake Hagenow homered off of Drew Elkins, driving in two runs and there was an error, scoring one run.

The Ads knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning. Zach Yunger singled on a 0-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

Maryville took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Riley Church hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and Church hit a grand slam off of Collin Grove, driving in four runs.

Farragut  scored four runs in the sixth inning. The Ads scored on a single by Carson Wright and a double by Parker Noland.

Elkins earned the win for Maryville. He pitched two innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and striking out two. Three relievers helped Maryville close out the victory. Ben Shirley threw three innings. Grove took the loss for the Admirals. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs, and four hits.

Farragut  had eight hits in the game. Noland and Hagenow each collected multiple hits for theAdmirals. Hagenow and Noland all had two hits to lead Farragut.

Maryville collected nine hits. Mason Fry, Church, and Orren each collected multiple hits for Maryville.
