Five Pitchers Team Up As Farragut JV Shuts Out Powell JV in a Double Header.
Farragut JV defeated Powell JV 3-0 in first game of the double header Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Owen Clark started the game and went 4 innings recording 6 strikeouts and giving up no runs on 3 hits. Caylon Scholem and Carter Gillette combined for the last inning to close out the game.
The Admirals sticks were led by Jake Evans with a RBI double in the bottom of the third to score Evan McFerran. Cooper Mashburn, Alec Nussbuam, Myles McFerran, and Jake Evans all had one hit to lead the Admirals.
The Admiral victory was secured by Carter Gillette with the pitching save.
In the second game, Farragut JV defeated Powell JV 5-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Cooper Mashburn started strong for the Admirals striking out the first six batters on his way to ten strikeouts on the evening. He gave up one hit and one walk in the commanding four inning performance.
Farragut JV grabbed an early lead scoring on a triple by Jake Evans and a triple by Nick Barnes in the first inning.
Tanner Corum, Gabe Hensley, Alec Nussbaum, Myles McFerran, Evans, and Barnes each managed one hit to lead Farragut JV.
Matthew Delph closed the game with a strong inning pitched that included two strike outs.
