4/13 vs William Blount W 11-5

William Blount tried but couldn’t ruin a beautiful evening at Farragut Ball Park.

Austin Stapleton got the start but couldn’t find the groove like in his previous starts.

Will Sayers came in as relief in the 3rd and got the W as he quieted the Govs bats for the next 4

innings.  The Govs scraped up a couple of runs in the 7th.

Jake Applegate and Nico Mascia started the bats with a single and double and both scoring in the first and

6th innings.  Carson Strickland cleared the bases with a 3 RBI triple;

the opposition’s 3rd baseman  didn’t like the look of a charging Bull coming right at him.

Brandon Donathan scored 2 runs, Landon Foody and Roy Mutta had 2 hits, Austin Scheidt had 3 and

2 RBIs.  A rare double web gem tonight; the 1st to 3B Foody who reached into the visiting dugout to catch

a foul ball, the 2nd to CF Jake Applegate for laying out to snag a fly ball in the centerfield gap.

Sat vs Maryville L 12-2  W 2-0

You win one, you lose one.

In the first game on Saturday, Carson Strickland got the start and ran into some hot

Rebel hitters, Shyam Thiagarajan and Eric Lessig closed out the game.  Foody and

Strickland each had an RBI and Tyler Lugo pounded out a double.  The web gems goes

to Sam Schulze’s dive for a hard hit grounder at second and throw to first.

In the second game of the double header Peter Pratti got the start and his 2nd complete

game win.  Pete had 4 Ks, 0 runs and allowed just 4 hits in 5 innings.  Sam Schulze did

all the damage offensively driving in 2 RBIs.  The web gem goes to Brandon Donathan at

short alerting tagging a Rebel base stealer who slid past 2nd base.
