Farragut Admirals Varsity shut the door early on Heritage, capturing a 13-3 victory on Wednesday at Farragut. With eight runs in the first three innings, the Admirals left no doubt about the eventual outcome.  A two-run homer by Chase Chambers and an RBI double by Nico Mascia in the first inning, and an RBI single by Chase Chambers and a two-run double by Duncan Pence during the second inning fueled Farragut’s offense early.

The Admirals season stands at 5 wins and 4 losses, 3-2 in District 4AAA, heading into this weekend’s Warrior Classic Tournament in Murfreesboro.

Nico Mascia racked up five RBIs on three hits for Farragut Admirals Varsity.

Eric Lessig got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over 4 2/3 innings. Eric struck out four, walked two and gave up five hits.

Deakins was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed 11 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.

Farragut Admirals Varsity got two-run rallies in the third inning and the fifth. In the third, Farragut Admirals Varsity scored on a two-run double by Sam Schulze, plating Roy Mutta and Gabe Waldrop.

Farragut Admirals Varsity added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Mascia homered, plating Duncan to kick things off. That was followed up by Carson Strickland’s single, scoring Chase Fullington.

It didn’t take long for Farragut Admirals Varsity to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the fifth. Nico Mascia closed things out on a two-run double to end the game in 5 innings..
