Despite hit advantage, Farragut drops 6-2 game to Collierville

Farragut  lost 6-2 in seven innings at MTSU on Friday, despite outhitting Collierville six to three. 

Nick Senzel had two extra-base hits for Farragut Admirals Varsity. He doubled in the first and fifth innings. 

Peyton Sanderlin recorded the win for Collierville. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six hits.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as Collierville scored two runs on an RBI double by Parker Phillips and an error.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Farragut Admirals Varsity close its deficit to 2-1. A bases loaded walk by Sanderlin triggered Farragut’s comeback. Sanderlin ended the inning by getting Sam Schulze to strike out.

Collierville got one-run rallies in the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, Collierville scored on a walk by Phillips, plating Kyle Dailey.

One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Farragut  close its deficit to 3-2. An RBI single by Chase Chambers sparked Farragut Admirals Varsity’s rally. But, Sanderlin got Brett Hagenow to ground out to end the inning.

Collierville piled on two more runs in the top of the sixth. A wild pitch scored Austin Hall to start the scoring in the inning.

Admirals finish the 2013 campaign at 35-9.
