Farragut Varsity can’t manage hit in 3-0 loss to Catholic

Catholic’s Ethan Elliott baffled Farragut Admirals Varsity hitters all game long on Friday, tossing a no-hitter and leading Catholic to a 3-0 victory over the Admirals.

No Farragut Admirals batter was able to locate Elliott’s pitches during the game. Elliott threw a no-hitter, striking out five batters and walking none. He got Duncan Pence to strike out for the final out of the game.  While only 5 Admiral batters struck out, virtually everything else was hit at ’em.

Jacob Naumoff looked sharp on the hill in 3 innings of relief. Naumoff gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Eric Lessig was charged with the loss. He pitched three innings in his first start, gave up only 2 hits, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Catholic took the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a groundout by Smith and an RBI single by Souder.
