The Farragut Admirals claimed the Region 2AAA championship, defeating Maryville 1-0 on Wednesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Drew Patterson, Brad Day, and Collin Grove combined on the masterful shutout.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Farragut Admirals Varsity pitchers struck out six, while hurlers for Maryville sat down five.

Drew Patterson earned the win for Farragut Admirals Varsity. He threw four and a third innings, surrendering 0 runs, 5 hits, and striking out two. Two relievers helped Farragut Admirals Varsity close out the victory. Collin Grove threw two innings.  Grove recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Farragut.

Brad Grenkoski’s infield fielders choice scored the lone Admiral run. He went 1-for-3 on the day.  Farragut Admirals Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jake Grooms had the most chances in the field with eight.

With the victory, the Admirals return home on Friday evening to host the Region 1AAA runner-up, Jefferson Co.  The Patriots suffered a 7-1 loss to the Dobyns-Bennett Indians.  Friday’s game at the Ballpark at Farragut will be a 6:30 start, and will be broadcast on WUCPLP FM99.9, and streamed on WUCPLP.com.  Chris Low and Ralph Skinner will be on the call.

We need all hands on deck Friday to help the Admirals return to the Class AAA State Tournament in the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro!!  Bring your maracas!!  Bring your bells!! We need *EVERYONE* to be at the Ballpark at Farragut on Friday!!
