The baseballs were flying out of the Ballpark at Farragut in Wednesday’s Region 2AAA Championship game between the Farragut Admirals and the Bearden Bulldogs. The Dogs made theirs count for more runs and came away with the Championship 10-7.

The Dogs jumped on Ad starter Patrick Raby in the first, sparked by Lane Thomas’s leadoff homer, and plated 4 runs. Jordan Walls’ 3-run blast to left-center was the big blow.

District 4AAA MVP AJ Simcox tried to get the Ads going with a solo blast to right-center in the bottom of the 1st. David Logan started his 4-for-4 night with a double, but was left stranded.

The Dogs added 3 more in the 2nd, on the strength of Neil Gore’s solo HR, and District4AAA Pitcher-of the-Year Ronnie Broyles’ RBI single.

The Ads would counter with back-to-back doubles leading off the 3rd, by Chase Chambers and Logan. They would score 2 more.

The Dogs would only score 3 more in the final 5 innings, as the Ad relief pitchers Jordan Newby, Chase Chambers, and Jammer Strickland tried to hold the Dogs at bay.

The Ads would get 2 on Patrick Raby’s 2-run double in the 5th, AJ second solo homer in the 6th, and Logan’s solo shot in the 7th.

The Ads will travel to Kingsport on Friday to take on the Region 1 champion Dobyns-Bennett Indians for the right to advance to the Spring Fling next week for the 5th straight year. The game will be broadcast on WUCP-LP FM99.9 in the Farragut area, and WUCPLP.com on the internet.
