The Admirals advanced to the championship game in the 2012 District 4AAA Tournament with a back-and-forth win over the tough Maryville Rebels Monday. The Ads posted 4 runs in the home half of the 6th inning to win 8-4.

Chase Chambers started on the hill for the Ads, and pitched into the 4th inning, surrendering 4 runs on 4 hits. Jordan Newby came on in relief, and while giving up a double, didn’t allow any further damage. AJ Simcox closed out the 7th.

Brett Hagenow swung the lumber for the Ads, with an RBI double in the 5th, and a huge 2-run single in the 6th. The Admirals batted through the order in the home half of the sixth, scoring 2 on RBI walks before Brett’s big hit into the right field corner.

Chase Chambers had an RBI single and Patrick Raby hit a double in the 3rd.

The Ads will take on the loser’s bracket survivor the District Tournament championship at 5:00pm Wednesday. Tuesday night, Catholic and Bearden play at 5:00 in an elimination game. That winner will play Maryville immediately following at 7:30. That survivor will advance to Wednesday’s final. Both District finalists advance to next week’s Region 2 Tournament.

We plan to broadcast Wednesday’s championship game on WUCP-LP FM99.9 in the Farragut area, and WUCPLP.com on the internet.
