The top-seeded Admirals entered the 2012 District 4 tournament with a 13-1 regular season District slate, 28-6 overall, and turned away the Lenoir City Panthers in Game 1 of the tournament. The Ads defeated the Panthers 12-1 in the 5-inning affair.

Chase Chambers took the bump to start, surrendering only 1 run in 3 innings. Jordan Newby pitched a scoreless fourth, and Patrick Raby followed suit with a scoreless 5th to close it out.

The Ads jumped on the Panthers early with 3 first-inning runs. AJ Simcox started things with a blast over the right field wall. The Ads would add 2 more on a wild pitch and sac fly by David Logan.

The Ads put together another big inning in the 3rd, scoring 8. Sending 12 batters to the plate, the Ads were paced by David Logan’s double, singles by Brett Hagenow and Gabe Waldrop, Jammer Strickland’s double, and AJ’s second homer of the night.

The Ads will take on the Catholic Irish, winners over 5th seed William Blount in the nightcap, Saturday at 12:30 at the Ballpark. There will not be radio for the game, so come out and help the Ads continue on their quest!!
