Farragut earned the opportunity to defend its District 4AAA championship by defeating West 8-5 in come-from-behind fashion, after being down 5-0.  The Ads scored 5 in the bottom of the 3rd to knot the game up.

The game was tied at five with the Ads batting in the bottom of the sixth when Jake Grooms hit a solo homer off of Alan Biven.  That proved to be the game-winning hit.  Brad Grenkoski followed that shot with one of his own over the left-centerfield wall.

West captured the lead in the first inning.   Landon Smiddy started on the mound for the Admirals, and surrendered the early lead to the Rebels. He went 2 innings, allowing 5 runs, 7 hits, 1K, 0BB.

Farragut  knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the third inning.  After Brad Grenkoski’s leadoff single, Carson Wright and Justen Freeman worked their way on base with walks.  Jake Hagenow was HBP for the Ads first run.  Parker Noland’s sac fly plated Wright, and then Zach Yunger drove in three runs when he homered.

Brad Day earned the win for Farragut. He tossed five innings, giving up no runs, scattered four hits, striking out 1 and walked none.

Grenkoski went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Farragut in hits. The Ads  were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Grooms had the most chances in the field with eight.

West collected 11 hits. Chase Marine, Adam Cupp, Roland Ryan, and Kimon Swanson each collected multiple hits for West. Marine led West with three hits in four at bats.

The Ads will host Maryville tomorrow night for what the Admirals hope to be double header.  The Ads are coming out of the losers bracket will need to win 2 to claim the District Tournament Championship.  First Game starts a 5PM.  Come out and support YOUR Admirals.
