Farragut Admirals Varsity Falls in Back-And-Forth Affair Against Bearden

Even though Farragut and Bearden both had their opportunities, it was Bearden that eventually prevailed 8-7 on Monday.

Despite the loss, the Ads did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Bearden had 12 hits on the way to victory.

After Farragut  scored three runs in the top of the third, Bearden answered with three of their own. Farragut scored when Jake Grooms singled off of Brandon Trammell, driving in one run, there was an error, scoring one run, and Ashton King singled off of Trammell, driving in one run. Bearden then answered when Trammell doubled off of Collin Grove, driving in one run and Keith Gabrielson singled off of Grove, driving in two runs.

Bearden knotted the game up at six in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jacob Balsley hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Gabrielson earned the win for Bearden. He threw three innings, surrendering one run, zero hits, and striking out six. Landon Smiddy took the loss for Farragut Admirals Varsity. He pitched three innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out six.

Grove started the game for Farragut Admirals Varsity. He pitched four innings, surrendering five runs, five hits, and striking out six. Trammell started the game for Bearden. He went three innings, allowing six runs, six hits, and striking out six.

Carson Wright, Grooms, King, and Zach Yunger each drove in one run to lead Farragut Admirals Varsity.

Trammell, David Beam, Gabrielson, and Clark Poynter each collected multiple hits for Bearden
