The Admirals put away the Bearden Bulldogs in the next installment of a long-running baseball rivalry Wednesday night at the Ballpark at Farragut. The Ads scored early and often and cruised to a 5-inning, 15-1 victory to again claim the District 4AAA crown. The Ads will carry that crown into next week’s Region 2 Tournament, and will host the District 3AAA runner-up on Monday at 6:30 at the Ballpark.

Patrick Raby took the hill and after surrendering a 1-out homer in the first inning, settled down and mowed down the Bulldogs over the next 3 innings. Kyle Serrano pitched to four batters in the 5th to finish things.

The Admirals took control immediately in the bottom of the first: Jammer HBP, AJ RBI triple, Nick RBI double, David 2run homer, Alex RBI single.

The hit parade continued in the Admiral 2nd, sending 12 men to the plate, collecting 8 runs on 7 hits. AJ led off with a double, followed by Nick’s single, Chase’s RBI single, David was HBP, and Brett singled. Patrick reached on a fielder’s choice, and after Austin Scheidt popped out, Alex delivered an RBI single, Jammer an RBI single, AJ walked, and Nick delivered a 3RBI double.

The Ads put the exclamation point on things with a single run in the 3rd.

Of the Ads total of 13 hits, 7 were for extra bases.

The Ads will host the District 3AAA runner-up (TBD) in next week’s Region 2 Tournament. Monday’s game at 6:30 at the Ballpark will be broadcast on WUCP-LP FM99.9 in the Farragut area, and WUCPLP.com on the internet. The winner of Monday’s game advances to the Region 2 final on Wednesday, and to Friday’s substate game.
