I am currently collecting any and all old baseball gloves that are not being used by your kids anymore.  I have a school in Washington DC that I am working with that is in need of anything that can be donated.  The school is in an area that has an extremely high free and reduced lunch rate and there are alot of kids who have parents who work 3 jobs just to get food on the table.  There are many others who are living in temporary housing and homeless shelters.  When it comes to extracurricular activities such as baseball, the gloves are at a premium.  I saw how appreciative the families were last holiday season when friends of mine were able to donate a pickup truck full of soccer balls, basketballs, and footballs for the kids (not to mention the kids just about lost their minds when they saw all of the stuff).

I will be personally delivering any baseball equipment that I can gather to the school during our holiday break.  I have announced this to your boys at practice, but I just wanted to inform you guys why I am doing this and where the equipment will be going.  Please believe me when I say that these kids have next to nothing and providing them with our used equipment will give them more supervised time at the school and a positive way to spend their energy.

Also, if you have any used sweatshirts or jackets that you would like to donate (adult or youth), there is a huge need for warm clothing too.  If you would like to donate anything the easiest way to do this is to have your son bring it to the baseball office under the gym after school or someone can bring it directly to me in the guidance office.  If you have any questions please email me.

Thank you in advance.  This is a very good way to give back to some really great kids this holiday season.
